"Attack on Titan" is coming back for its third season sometime in July 2018.

According to Crunchyroll, the season 3 announcement was made during an "Attack on Titan" Reading and Live Event Orchestra performance in Tokyo on Oct. 29.

Aside from season 3's confirmation, season 2 will reportedly be turned into a recap movie of sorts. It will serve as a refresher to old fans and an introduction to new ones. The movie will be aired sometime in January 2018, just a few months before the third season's eventual release during the summer season.

Funimation previously released a short 15-second preview on their YouTube channel in June. The trailer didn't reveal much in terms of animation, voice acting or even specific dates, but it featured stills of the characters from previous seasons alongside the announcement itself. Some of the fans speculated that the illustrations were tiny hints of what's to come in the latest season of "Attack on Titan."

Snippets of season 3 can also be found on the official "Attack on Titan" Twitter page. While the content is in Japanese, the account features art for the upcoming third season alongside announcements for "Attack on Titan" events.

The most recent posts on the social media page include a poster for the upcoming third season, art samples, news about the upcoming movie that will be based on season 2, and photos of the recently held Reading and Live Orchestra event.

"Attack on Titan" originally started out as a manga in 2009. The story follows Eren Jaeger and his peers as they struggle to live in a world filled with perils and Titans. The manga was adapted into an anime in 2013 and has been a hit ever since.

Fans should stay tuned as more specific details about "Attack on Titan" season 3 are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
