'Attack on Titan' game updates: Titans fiercer, more brutal in new gameplay trailer

The gang gets ready to save the world and themselves from a cluster of horrendous flesh-eating Titans in the latest gameplay trailer released by Koei Tecmo for the highly anticipated "Attack on Titan" game.

The four-minute long clip for the game, which is based on the hit manga created by Hajime Isayama, was downright bloody and was filled with scenes showing Eren and the crew tirelessly slicing their way through the giants.

For a moment, it looks as if developer Omega Force amped up the creepy factor in this "Attack on Titan" game, at least in terms of the depiction of the Titans. Destructoid details how the cannibalistic monsters hound the player and prowl until the right moment to attack.

In their bid to go after the soldiers, the Titans will crash and break down buildings. They are noticeably extra quick too, as they even try to pummel and fight back (they kick and punch) with the soldiers, which is not the case in the anime.

Destructoid also points out that every Titan seems to act a little differently from each other, making the "Attack on Titan" gaming experience richer for players. One Titan carried a big piece of concrete wreckage that he intends to toss to crush the soldiers flat.

However, in the "Attack on Titan" game trailer, it was the strong-minded soldiers who had the upper hand. Titans drop dead as they hack and slice their outsized foes. There was one point where Eren shot a ball of light up in the sky so as to signal help.

The next scene showed a horde of soldiers flying in to help out in the battle. Needless to say, more chopped up Titans were shown. Apart from swords, the soldiers used various weapons like big guns and revolvers.

The "Attack on Titan" gameplay trailer also showed that there will be various locations where players can fight the Titans. While most of the time, they will be flying through the roofs of buildings, one scene showed a soldier ride a horse as she took on a pair of giants.

The "Attack on Titan" game will be out in Japan on Feb. 18 for the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita.
