The Apple Watch Series 3 was released on Sept. 22 as a companion for the iPhone 8. Ever since its release, the watch has gained popularity — with many people predicting that demand for it would continue to rise as time went on.

One of the reasons for the Apple Watch Series 3's popularity is its multiple functions. According to iDownload Blog, there are new features that are only available in the Series 3

The Apple Watch Series 3 comes in two different versions, the cellular and GPS version and GPS only version. According to iMore's buyer guide, the GPS only version works with the iPhone 5 and any other iPhone made after that, but the cellular and GPS version needs at least an iPhone 6 or higher.

Moreover, the cellular and GPS version of the Apple Watch Series 3 allows users to get phone and internet connectivity even when they are not using their iPhone. It also allows users to use their current phone plan. Unfortunately, the GPS only Apple Watch Series 3 does not have the same connectivity.

The cellular and GPS version will also have 16GB compared to the GPS only's 8GB storage size.

Functionality aside, there will also be slight differences in the casing. Considering the different qualities of the cellular and GPS and GPS only Apple Watch Series 3, those purchasing it should consider the features before diving in headfirst and buy it.

Despite the differences, however, both have received positive feedback and reviews. The Apple Watch Series 3 will have LTE cellular capabilities for high-speed wireless communications. Also, an updated version of Apple's music app for listening is anticipated as well. Not only that,  it boasts of a more responsive version of Siri, a barometric altimeter that functions similar to a GPS, a W2 Wireless Chip, a find my friends feature — that carries on from a user's iPhone to their watch and several other features.
