Apple new wireless headphones news: Better audio quality than Airpods, yet ditches the Beats brand

Recent leaks from known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities reveal that Apple is working on brand-new, high audio quality over-the-ear headphones. There are speculations among the Apple community that this could lead to an entirely new line of audio accessories from the famous electronics brand.

It should be first noted Apple already has the AirPods as a standard headphone accessory, and it certainly is a hit among their users. However, some people say that they cannot wear the pods because of the shape of their ears. Still, others may not be as satisfied with the AirPods and may look for something with a higher quality of audio reproduction.

The new headphones aim to solve both these problems. Of course, it is expected to be pricier than the Apple's standard headphones because of the improvements. The cost is estimated to be significantly more than the $159 price tag of the AirPods.

Besides improving audio quality and the design for comfort, there are also technical updates which any Apple user will want. The new headphones are expected to have Siri activation, as support for the digital assistant will reportedly be integrated into the accessory's software. They even plan to make the earphones water-resistant. However, these particular improvements may not be made available immediately. They are expected to be built-in on 2019.

Apple analyst Kuo revealed this tidbit of information when he found out that Apple is working with a metal injection molding company called SZS.

The new earphones may either complement or compete with the company's other line of high audio quality headphones, Beats. It should be noted that Apple bought Beats in 2014 for $3 billion.

However, it is still strongly speculated that the new headphones will be branded as Apple, and not Beats.

The new line of headphones is expected to be launched sometime in the fourth quarter of 2018. If all goes well, it may pave the way for a new set of audio accessories for the famous brand.
