Macbook Pro, Air 2016 release date: New MacBooks to launch in June, analyst predicts

New MacBook models will reportedly be released this June. This is what KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in his latest research note to investors. Kuo also believes that these new products will boost Apple's revenue even further.

Apart from the all-important iPhone array, which is expected to be refreshed later this year, the analyst believes that Apple can turn to its MacBook line for growth. The notebook line-up will continue to blow up the company's sales performance.

"We see MacBook as a stronger candidate for becoming a theme given solid growth in the business segment, as well as a potential upgrade to hit the market in 1H16," Kuo wrote in the research note obtained by 9to5mac.

The analyst did not go into detail as to what the new MacBooks will offer or which of the variety of line-ups they go by will be updated, although there are already loads of reports about Apple developing new iterations for the MacBook Air and Pro.

According to Apple Insider, the notebooks are expected to be out in June because the Cupertino-based company is standing by for the availability of the Skylake processors by Intel. These units are more efficient and powerful than the already-impressive Broadwell.

Apple is looking at a 30 percent increase in battery life with Skylake apart from the expected performance boosts. The CPU speeds of the MacBooks powered by it should be bumped up by 10 to 20 percent as well.

Apart from that, there's not much info on the new MacBooks on the way. At the moment, the consensus is that a whole new MacBook Air will be unveiled in the upcoming World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) to be held in June.

The device will allegedly come in a bigger 15-inch form factor and will reportedly be followed up by a new iteration of the MacBook Pro.
