Apple iPhone 7 specs rumors: Flagship to get dual speakers and dual camera?

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Apple

Apple is seriously considering massive design changes in the iPhone 7, if the new reports are anything to go by. According to analysts from Barclays, the Cupertino-based tech giant is hoping to incorporate dual speakers on its flagship.

The analysts believe that the dual speakers will be the replacement of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Apple iPhone 7. Users will remember that there were also previous reports about Apple forgoing the same jack for a Lightning connector.

The connector condenses various functionalities into one – audio output, connection to other devices and charging. With it, the Apple iPhone 7 should be slimmer and sleeker. While that remains unconfirmed, the said analysts believe that the components for the dual speaker are being prepared already.

Austin, Texas-based semiconductor supplier Cirrus Logic is allegedly providing the components for the dual speaker feature of the iPhone 7. The manufacturer has allegedly started the production for the said dual speakers.

Speakers won't be the only dual elements in the Apple iPhone 7, apparently. The company is purportedly adding dual cameras to its latest smartphone outing as well, with components already being manufactured by Analog Devices.

The camera setup is expected to allow users to capture photos of DSLR quality. With a slim iPhone design in mind, the camera won't be made protruding or sticking out. Also, as fans may have already heard, the new iPhone is said to come with A10 chips.

These powerful processors, however, will allegedly be entirely sourced from Apple's primary supplier TMSC. The company is allegedly dropping Samsung as one of the suppliers for these components.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 7 in two versions in September this year. Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices are said to go full-throttle on the production of the dual speakers and camera by the second and third quarter of the year.

As for what Apple has in store on the horizon, it is expected to unveil a 4-inch iPhone dubbed the iPhone 5se next month.
