iPhone 5se release date, specs rumors: Device to come in rose gold or pink?

Although yet to be confirmed by Apple, the iPhone 5se is getting more attention prior to its suspected launch next month. New speculations about the aesthetics and appearance of the 4-inch iPhone model have surfaced.

A new report is claiming that the device will come in the usual silver and space gray but there will also be versions that are dipped in rose gold. Previous reports claimed that the handset will be colored hot pink or bright pink instead.

However, a source with knowledge about the product says that Apple iPhone 5se will be dressed in rose gold, according to 9to5mac. This is the same shade the iPhone 6s Plus came in. The Cupertino-based company reportedly aims to keep the color variants of its products in line.

In fact, even the rumored Apple iPad Air 3 is expected to get a rose gold-colored model. Versions of the tablet wearing the said shade have apparently been spotted in Apple's headquarters.

However, GSM Arena reports that the new 4-inch iPhone is getting a pink sheath and not rose gold, which is allegedly reserved for the iPhone 6s alone. To get a clear picture of the iPhone 5se in such color, users can check the 6th gen iPod touch's pink version.

As for the rest of the color variants, it remains unclear if a gold version of the Apple iPhone 5se will be released. The new 12-inch MacBook and the next-gen iPad mini will offer gold versions though, according to 9to5mac.

As for the specs of the small iPhone on the way, the general consensus is that it has an A8 chipset under its hood. It will reportedly sport an 8MP camera at the back and a 1.2MP on the front. It is expected to be unveiled on Mar. 15 together with the iPad Air 3.
