iPad Air 3 release date in March; powerful features and specs expected

Apple fans are expecting an iPad Air 3 out of the Cupertino-based tech firm. Many imagined the tablet to be out last year but it did not materialize with Apple opting to release the iPad Pro. With the giant slab out of the way, a new version of the iPad Air could be out soon.

The company is recognized for putting out new versions of the iPad Air every year but it skipped 2015, presumably to give way to the iPad Pro. Even if they had the time to produce the iPad Air 3, Apple also would not want it to steal the thunder from its behemoth of an iPad.

That being said, the best bet is that it will be released in the next couple of months. The iPad Air 3 is believed to be one of the products Apple will launch this March, the others being the Apple Watch 2 and the iPhone 6c.

Thanks to the slight delay of the release, Apple allegedly had time to buff up the new iPad Air. There is a mighty expectation that the iPhone maker is working on a powerful, feature-rich iPad Air to compensate for the users' longer wait.

The tablet is set to come in a 9.7-inch 4K display that churns out a beautiful 2334 x 3112 screen resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 401ppi. Majority of the specs will allegedly mirror that of the iPad mini 4.

The smaller version of Apple's tablet did not get the 3D Touch feature so it is expected the iPad Air 3 won't have it as well. But considering that there is a slight delay in the latter's release (thus buying Apple a couple of months for other tweaks), it would come as a little surprise to see 3D Touch in action in the new iPad Air.

The feature's availability in the iPad Air 3 will be one of its main differences from the newest mini device available. But just like the iPad mini 4, the iPad Air 3 could use a Lightning connector in there as well.

The iPad Air 3 will purportedly boast a slimmer and sleeker build as well as a much more powerful processor in the form of an A9X chipset.
