There is no confirmation yet from Samsung regarding the arrival of the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update on the Galaxy Note 8. In spite of this, it is now rumored that the much-awaited OS version will be available soon for the owners of Samsung's high-end phablet, as the Galaxy Note 8 has been spotted with Wi-Fi certification while running the Oreo.

According to the latest reports, the Android 8.0 Oreo update will hit the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the near future, as the Wi-Fi Alliance database already lists the said handset running the latest OS. It appears that Samsung's preparation for the Android 8.0 update in the Note 8 is completed for the phablet to obtain a Wi-Fi certification with the new OS version. To note, the Wi-Fi Alliance database has the Samsung device with model number SM-N950F, which confirms that it is none other than the Galaxy Note 8.

It is hard to determine the exact release period of the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, especially that the South Korean tech firm has yet to launch an Oreo beta build for the particular handset. Even those who are qualified for Samsung's beta testing program has not yet experienced the Oreo update.

Nevertheless, it is likely that the Galaxy Note 8 will be the first mobile handset from Samsung to receive the Android 8.0 version, considering that the Note 8 is the top-end device of the company. However, SamMobile reported that the Oreo update could be delayed as the operating system's test build is causing unexpected reboots on a few devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was launched back in August 2017, running the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. This year, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on Feb. 25th, which are likely to be preinstalled with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update.
