It has been a few months since Google took the covers off of Android Oreo, but smartphone manufacturers including Samsung have yet to roll out the new operating system to their handsets. While the Korean tech giant has yet to announce which devices are getting it and which are not, a new leak may have just answered that matter.

According to reports, the leak, which first surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, lists 36 Samsung devices that are allegedly getting the update. Apart from the company's flagship lines, the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note, Samsung is also releasing the Android 8.0 to its other series of devices including the Galaxy A, Galaxy J, Galaxy C, Galaxy On Max, and the Galaxy Tab lineup.

Some handsets that have not been announced yet, such as the Galaxy A3 (2018), A5 (2018), and A7 (2018) and older models such as the Galaxy Note 5 and S6, are included as well. Check out the full list below.

Unfortunately, the leak does not indicate the schedule of the Android 8.0 rollout to the aforementioned devices. However, Samsung is said to be already beta testing the new OS for the Galaxy S8 series. As for other manufacturers, the release of Android Oreo is still ongoing, with the unlocked version of HTC U11, the LG V30, and V30+ the most recent ones to receive the update.

Reports reveal the update is around 1.2 GB in size and includes new features like picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, which lets users keep watching what they are doing in a small floating window while otherwise going about other Android business. There is also the addition of adaptive icons that customize the shapes of the app icons; and notification channels that let users filter their notifications to those they only want to be alerted to.

Apart from those, the Android Oreo also brings security patches, bug fixes, and a host of other improvements to the eligible devices.
