Android 5.0 L update causes problems with phones and tablets

Nexus devices with Android 5.0 Lollipop Official Google Blog

Android users who decided to update their mobile operating systems into the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop have reported that their devices began to crash and slow down.

Although the new version of Android's mobile operating system got positive reviews because of its features, the users of last-generation devices were turned off because it has negative effects on their handheld gadgets. Some even complained that their devices became unusable.

The glitch allegedly affects people who have updated their Google-produced Nexus products, including the latest Nexus 6 smartphone as well as the Nexus 9 tablet.

Android 5.0 Lollipop was unveiled by Google in October. It will allegedly improve the user interface of the device's operating system, as well as provide greater control over the instant notifications to make it easier for the user to see if there is a new action in their device.  Google also claimed that it made several improvements with the code embedded in the operating system, which could mean that the OS will have lesser "temporary glitches" compared to the earlier Android versions.

However, there are a lot of unexpected problems that Android users faced when they installed the update as soon as it was released.  Aside from the frequent crashing and slower response, users are also reporting that they are experiencing sound quality problems as well as Wi-Fi connectivity errors.

Some users also posted complaints in the Adobe community forums regarding the -505 problems that they faced when they installed the apps that were built with its Air tool. Program manager Chris Campbell from Adobe addressed the problems, and said that they have already relayed it to Google so that the search engine company can address it soon.

A representative from Google released a statement about the recent issues through MailOnline, saying:

"We're aware of reports that some Android users are facing issues and are looking into what might be the cause. If users have downloaded the Lollipop update, having been prompted to do so from their device, and it has rendered their device unusable, our customer services team is standing by to help, and we recommend they contact them on 0800 328 6081."
