It's confirmed: Kathy Bates returns to the set of "American Horry Story" for season five.

The news was officially announced by series creator Ryan Murphy through his Twitter account, saying: "Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. ‪#AHSSeason5."

Bates was first seen in the highly acclaimed horror anthology series as Marie Delphine LaLaurie, the real-life murderous socialite from New Orleans for the "American Horror Story: Coven." This role landed her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie and the Dorian Award for Best TV Performance of the Year – Actress during that time.

Then she went on to portray the role of the bearded lady named Ethel Darling in the "American Horror Story: Freak Show" last season.

However, the role of the 66-year-old actress for the upcoming "American Horror Story: Hotel" is still unconfirmed at the moment.

Bates will be joining other returning American Horror Story actors like Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, and Matt Bomer in the new season of FX's hit horror thriller. It will also feature newcomers like Broadway and TV actor Cheyenne Jackson and pop superstar Lady Gaga who will portray undisclosed roles for the series.

Fan favorite actress Jessica Lange will not appear in the show this time, after announcing that her notable performance for "American Horror Story: Freak Show" will be her last participation in the series.

FX announced the order for AHS season five back in October 2014, and the show is slated to air in October this year.

Several rumored plots about where Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuck will take the direction of the series this season had been posted, including the possible participation of modern-day witches, the repurposed asylum, a haunted hotel full of ghosts, or a place of accommodation for the twisted characters in Hollywood.

More casting news are expected to be unveiled before the series begins filming in the coming months.
