'American Horror Story' season 5 spoilers, casting news: Angela Bassett checks into 'Hotel'

Another "American Horror Story" alum checks into the creepy "hotel" for the fifth season of FX's critically acclaimed horror anthology sequel.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy announced through his Twitter account that "Coven" and "Freak Show" star Angela Bassett will return in the series, and she will cause Lady Gaga some troubles.

Murphy's post reads:

"In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere. #ahshotel"

If the leaked list of characters will turn out to be true, Bessett will portray the role of the hotel's resident jazz singer Lolita Jones who is often pitted against Lady Gaga's Elisa Starr.

However, the list of characters is still unconfirmed at the moment.

Bassett is not the only star who will return in Murphy's much-talked about horror drama. Other AHS cast members were confirmed to join the series in October, including Sarah Paulson, Chloe Sevigny, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, and the recently announced Evan Peters.

Yet fan-favorite actress Jessica Lange will not appear this season after she confirmed her exit.

In one of her early interviews posted on Vulture, Bassett praised Murphy's talents in creating a spectacular show just like the American Horror Stories.

According to the actress, "It's phenomenal, and that comes out of Ryan Murphy and his love and appreciation of women. He had a man cut out his tongue for one!"

Paulson agreed, and said that she will always leave room for Murphy's horror anthology despite working for another one of Murphy's projects, the American Crime Story because of Murphy's commitment to the project.

"I have never felt so completely seen by another director or producer or person before in terms of his willingness time and time again to give me something to do that I didn't even think I was capable of doing. I don't know why in the world I'd want to go elsewhere when I'm getting the best deal in town. I absolutely want to do season," the actress said.

The American Horror Story: Hotel begins in October.
