After appearing in the first season of "American Horror Story," Connie Britton will once again star in another Ryan Murphy-created anthology, the "American Crime Story," which will also be shown on FX.

The hit-making series creator announced Britton's casting in his own Twitter account Tuesday, saying, "Excited to announce my friend Connie Britton will play Faye Resnick in the upcoming FX miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson."

This will be the first season of the next TV series under the creation of Murphy and Brad Falchuk, who also brought other high-rating shows like "Glee" and "American Horror Story" on TV. It will be based on the best-selling book titled "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson" written by Jeffrey Toobin.

Britton will portray the role of Resnick, a friend of Simpson's late wife Nicole Brown and a contributor on the book regarding Brown's murder case.

Resnick had a huge part in the highly controversial O.J. Simpson trial, after his defense team claimed that his wife and friend Ronald Goldman were murdered by drug dealers at their home where Resnick stayed for a while because she owed the dealers money. However, the court dismissed the line of reasoning later on.

She also became famous for writing two books about the trial, and for appearing in several episodes of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

Britton is the second "American Horror Story" alum who has signed up for a role in the next FX anthology. The first was Sarah Paulson, known for portraying the role of conjoined twins Dot and Bette Tattler in the recently concluded "AHS: Freak Show," who will reportedly play the role of prosecutor Marcia Clark.

Other confirmed cast members of the upcoming series includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, and Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran.

The "American Crime Story" will air 10 episodes during its first season.
