An unlikely ally that will help Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) from the forces who wants to take over the agency will be introduced in the next episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2.

Spoilers for the episode titled "Frenemy Of My Enemy" claimed that Coulson will surprisingly work with black ops specialist Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) to protect the S.H.I.E.L.D. from being destroyed by those who want to remove Coulson from the office.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"A dangerous new alliance is formed as Coulson and Hunter turn to the last person anyone would expect – Grant Ward! As the war between S.H.I.E.L.D. factions continues, Skye and Lincoln will find themselves drawn into this conflict."

Could this give Coulson the leverage to fight against the internal forces that threaten to disrupt the organization?

Meanwhile, the connection between "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and the soon-to-be released "Avengers: Age of Ultron" movie will once again be confirmed after actress Cobie Smulders teased that she will return as Agent Maria Hill in an upcoming episode of the TV series.

During her interview with "Jimmy Kimmel Live" this week, the "How I Met Your Mother" alum confirmed that she will once again reprise her role as Agent Hill even though she stopped being an agent to work for the Stark Industries.

Her last appearance in the show was when she helped the team stop Hydra from infiltrating the agency during season one.

But aside from former Agent Hill, another Marvel Cinematic Universe character will appear in the show in episode 19.

Spoilers claim that Dr. List (Henry Goodman) will appear in the series before the "Age of Ultron" will be aired on screen. The character was last seen in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Will the doctor's appearance prompt Hill to appear in the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters?

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs every Tuesdays on ABC.
