2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class release date, price & specs news: New car to officially reveal on the 2018 Geneva Motor Show

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is scheduled to be revealed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March. The upcoming sedan will feature greater horsepower than its predecessor, more luxurious technology options and E-Class' semi-autonomous driver assistance.

According to Motor Authority, the upcoming sedan updated to a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine. Because of this, its horsepower will be raised to 255 from its 2015 C-Class predecessor's 241. On the other hand, its Torque will remain at 273 pound-feet.

Looks wise, according to Motor Trend, the upcoming C-Class has an S-Class feel. Its front and rear bumpers were refined with the front having a chrome-plated trim while its headlights and taillights were made LED standard. The sedan also features new 17-inch wheels for the base model, two additional colors to choose from, and a new leather-wrapped steering wheel which has touch control buttons.

An exciting update for the 2019 C-Class perhaps is its diverse technology options. According to Motor Trend, a standard 2019 C-Class has a push-button start, a power-retractable sunroof, wood trim, a 7.0-inch infotainment system and an automatic braking mechanism. Customers can also avail of more luxurious technology options which include a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, a heads-up display, near-field communication (NFC) wireless charging, and a Burmester sound system.

Customers can also avail of the additional E-Class' semi-autonomous driver assistance option. According to USA Today, the sedan will be able to self-drive using a cruise control mode with help of a camera that sees up to 1,640 feet ahead and a radar that scans 820 feet head, 130 feet to the sides and 260 feet to the rear. According to Motor Authority, 2019 C-Class will also feature a blind-spot assist (that will apply break on one side of the car), an active lane assist (to keep the car in its lane), an automatic lane change function and a steering assist system (that adds torque to the steering during emergencies).

The price of 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is not yet available. The upcoming sedan will go on sale before the end of 2018.
