The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will make its world premiere at a press event in Amsterdam on Friday, Feb. 2. Ahead of the highly anticipated launch, the German automaker has released a teaser image that finally reveals the fourth-generation compact sedan's exterior.

Though spy shots have captured the 2019 A-Class numerous times while testing, this is the first time that the compact sedan can be seen without heavy camouflage. Based on the image, the 2019 A-Class will have the same triangular headlights as the new CLS-Class. This means that the upcoming compact sedan will be more in line with Mercedes-Benz's latest design language.

According to the German automaker, the 2019 A-Class will maintain its youthful and dynamic character but the next-generation compact sedan will also be more mature and comfortable.

Since teaser image only shows the upcoming vehicle's front fascia, it cannot be ascertained if the world premiere will feature the 2019 A-Class as a hatchback or a sedan. The former is designed for European markets while the latter body style will be for the United States.

One anticipated feature of the 2019 A-Class is that it will have a luxurious cabin that is not typically seen in the compact car segment. It will also be the first vehicle to feature the German automaker's new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system.

MBUX is an intuitive multimedia system that is powered by artificial intelligence. It has a widescreen cockpit design with two displays of either 7 inches or 10.25 inches. With natural voice recognition, drivers will be able to activate the system and issue commands by saying "Hey Mercedes."

For car enthusiasts who want to learn more about the 2019 A-Class, the special launch event will be streamed live here on Friday, Feb. 2, at 6:45 p.m. CET/12:45 p.m. EST.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class is also expected to make an appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. It will then arrive in the United States later this year as an entry-level sedan.
