2016 NFL trade rumors: Denver Broncos' Sam Bradford withdraws trade demand

Philadelphia Eagles star Sam Bradford has officially rescinded his trade demand and ultimately keeps his ties to the team. Before he made the decision, there was chitchat in the NFL trade rumors circle that Bradford was bound to be the quarterback the Denver Broncos have been waiting for.

Before Bradford backtracked, the Broncos and Eagles were in negotiations about the possible switch, which gave him the confidence he will make it. But the talks ended up fruitless and gave Bradford no option but to stay.

According to ESPN, Bradford made the NFL trade demand with the confidence that Denver Broncos will take him. So when the unexpected happened, Bradford found himself discarding his trade demand.

Talks of Bradford being traded over to Denver Broncos made sense because the latter was in dire in need of a quarterback after Peyton Manning's retirement and Brock Osweiler in the free agency market. Also, their interest to take him in made it seem that things were looking up.

Bradford's primary reason for his NFL trade demand was motivated by the idea of Carson Wentz of North Dakota State being drafted with the No. 2 overall pick a couple of months after Bradford joined the Eagles in a $36 million contract.

"As they were making this plan, it would have been nice if they had told him about it," Bradford's agent Tom Condon told ESPN. This was the last straw for him. Despite Wentz taking the post, the Eagles were still adamant about keeping Bradford.

Now, with the Broncos trade no longer on the table, the NFL star commits himself to his Eagles contract and has recently attended the team's workouts in NovaCare Complex. He said in an official statement picked up by ESPN that he is "excited to be back on the field today with my teammates and coaches."

"The business side of football is sometimes a necessary consideration. My attention and efforts are focused on the participation in and preparation for a championship season. I am committed to my teammates and the Eagles organization for nothing less," Bradford added.
