The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is slated to come out later this year, but those in the U.S. can reportedly start pre-ordering next week.

According to reports that came out in July, consumers can start reserving the the soon-to-be released sixth generation classic American muscle car from General Motors on Aug. 13, and the production will begin on Aug. 22.

However, the car manufacturer has not confirmed the speculated pre-order date despite the continuous queries that it has received on its official social media sites. It means that Camaro fans must wait a little longer to find out if they can start purchasing their dream car.

The all-new Chevrolet Camaro, revealed back in May 16, has been reported to offer a quicker, more agile driving experience brought by the car's groundbreaking light architecture combined with an expansive range of powertrains. Camaro fanatics should expect to see three impressive powertrain variants that could provide six brand-new powertrain combinations, such as:

  • 2.0L TURBO. Generating 275 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, this option is designed for constantly changing levels of fine-tuned performance and response while on the road.
  • 6.2L V8 - This option offers 455 hp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque generated by the small but reliable block LT1 V8 that vows to launch the most powerful Camaro SS ever.
  • 3.6L V6 - This V6 balances 335 hp and 284 lb.-ft. of torque as well as Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing, and the 8-speed auto-generated Active Fuel Management.

While the under-the-hood features of the upcoming muscle car are enough to impress car enthusiasts, the Camaro's exterior is also undoubtedly part of the what lures prospective buyers.

"Redesigning the Camaro is thrilling and challenging all at once, but the secret is to offer something more," Mark Reuss, executive vice president for product development at General Motors, said in a press release. "For Camaro enthusiasts, it retains iconic design cues and offers even more performance. For a new generation of buyers, the 2016 Camaro incorporates our most innovative engineering ideas with finely honed performance and leading design."

More news about the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is expected to come out soon.
