'Outlander' season 4 spoilers: Diana Gabaldon teases next big reunion

Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in "Outlander" season 3. Starz

Droughtlander won't be over until this fall. Thankfully, the team behind the show knows the wait is no joke and has not been short of releasing teasers for "Outlander" season 4. The most recent one comes from author Diana Gabaldon herself, who posted an excerpt of the next big reunion from "Drums of Autumn" where the fourth run will be based.

The reunion in question is none other than Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Brianna's (Sophie Skelton). Technically, it will be the first time they meet in person as Brianna's mother Claire (Caitriona Balfe) was separated from her father before she was even born. Prior to the 18th century Battle of Culloden, it can be recalled that Jamie sent then-pregnant Claire back to her time in the 90s.They spent 20 years apart, resulting in Brianna never meeting her biological dad.

This, however, will change in "Outlander" season 4. The father and daughter will finally come face to face and Gabaldon just gave a short sneak peek of the big scene.

"#ThisisaSPOILERifyouhaventreadthebook #whyhaventyoureadit #itsbeenoutsince1996forheavenssake #anyway #inwhichBriannaMeetsSomeoneImportant," Gabaldon wrote on Twitter, accompanying the post with a link to the excerpt.

Fans are now hyped, with some specifically expressing their excitement about seeing Heughan and Skelton on the same scene for the first time.

"Can't wait! One of the scenes I'm most looking forward to see it," one Twitter user commented on Gabaldon's teaser."The chemistry between Sophie Skelton and Sam Heughan will be incredible for sure!"

"No need to change this scene. It's perfection. Loved it first time I read it hundred yrs ago.. love it still," another said.

"Outlander" season 4 is currently filming. As reported previously, Balfe was spotted filming in costume at East Kilbride's Calderglen country park, which would presumably double as the Frasers' new home in the colonies.

The show has no release date at the moment, but it is expected to premiere later this year.
