'Golem' PSVR game release news: Virtual reality game delayed yet again

HighWire's "Golem" delayed again Highwire/Golem - Exploration

Virtual reality has grown in popularity since it entered the gaming scene years ago. And one pioneer in this particular field of the gaming industry is Sony's PlayStation console -- through its PlayStation VR (PSVR) platform.

In recent years, the PSVR has seen various games released on its platform, including amazing titles such as "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," "Batman: Arkham VR," "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood," and more recently the adventure-fantasy title "Moss" -- which is a PSVR exclusive.

Another title announced way back in 2015 at PlayStation Experience and has yet to come to the VR platformer is HighWire's adventure game "Golem" -- a title that fans have been anticipating since Sony's official confirmation.

However, players are going to wait much longer as the game's release date, for the nth time, has been delayed once again.

In HighWire's post, the studio shared that the game will be in development, and fans have to wait a little bit longer in order to get their paws on the upcoming title.

The company did not go into specifics with regard to what aspect of the game needed enhancements and tweaking. It adds that what it wants is for fans to experience a more polished version of the VR title, which only means that further tweakings and optimizations are to be made.

Further into details, the studio did not reveal a specific release date for the said game, but it promised fans that it will still be coming out sometime this year. The developer advised fans to keep a lookout on announcements that it will be making in the coming weeks.

Plot-wise, "Golem" is a VR title that will see users play as a kid who has been afflicted with a serious injury and discovers that she can control the earth and form stone creatures into golems that she can control. It is set in an abandoned ancient city that players will be able to explore as the game progresses.

On its latest release date, the game was supposed to debut next week on March 13. Currently, the studio has not announced an official date on when the game will drop.
