'Castle' season 8 spoilers: 'Caskett' headed for divorce?

"Castle" season 8 recently aired its sixth episode, titled "Cool Boys," and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) was nowhere as she was out of town on a mission. That means her relationship with estranged husband, Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion), is still on the rocks, and that story has yet to unfold in the upcoming episodes.

For episode 7, which will air on the Nov. 16, Rick and Kate will be teaming up once again to catch the person who murdered a "grifting seducer," as stated in the official synopsis from ABC.

To find some leads, the two need to investigate influential people of New York. In the episode 7 trailer, it was also mentioned that Kate will go undercover to solve the case.

TV Over Mind shared some stills of the episode, and it showed Kate at a spa with Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye). It remains to be seen if the two met at the location coincidentally or are actually hanging out on purpose. After all, Kate is heard in the trailer mentioning about how she needs a partner to go with her inside the women's locker room.

The trailer also revealed that it will be Kate and Rick's wedding anniversary, and he intends to spend it with her. Rick is seen doing everything he can just to surprise Kate and give her the "perfect gift" for their anniversary.

However, it may be a heartbreaking episode for Rick as Kate is seen talking to a female character about a divorce. This storyline is expected to connect with episode 8, titled "Mr. & Mrs. Castle," which will air on Nov. 23 before the show takes its winter break, CarterMatt reported.

TVLine also shared that episode 8 will resemble Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," where it's expected to show the conflict in their relationship in a fun way, according to co-showrunner Alexi Hawley.

Hawley also revealed that the show will not feature a cliffhanger, but will "promise what it will be like" once it returns.

"Castle" airs every Monday at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
