Disney Infinity 3.0 release date, characters: Leak shows Star Wars' Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano

Disney Infinity has already featured the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow and Mr. Incredible (version 1.0) and the Avengers (version 2.0) for the Disney Infinity series. And now if this reported leak is true, could Disney Infinity 3.0 make use of Star Wars characters?

A leaked image showing Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, popular characters from the animated Star Wars series clone wars suddenly popped up at the Disney Kingdom website but were later on taken down at the request of Disney Interactive. Despite the removal, Disney Interactive relayed to fans to expect more Star Wars updates soon.

There is still no official word on when Disney Infinity 3.0 would be coming out but from the looks of it, it may very well be the Star Wars theme. This has been the speculation for quite some time now and the leak all the more justifies that the next version could highlight the Star Wars characters.

A curious thing about the leak is that it only shows two characters (Anakin Skywalker and Ahsok Tano) instead of the usual three-character starter pack the previous Disney Infinity version offered. Does this mean that the third version will be offered cheaper (as far as the starter pack is concerned)? One report (from Saturn) suggests that the retail price for Disney Infinity 3.0 will be $69.99 for the two character starter set.

So if the starter set would indeed have Anakin Skywalker and Ahsok Tano, which other Star Wars characters may be available? Could Darth Vader, Yoda, Princess Leia, R2-D2 or C3PO be in the list?

While the previous leak does seem to be authentic, it remains to be seen why the images were pulled out. Regardless, a listing from Saturn bares that Disney Infinity 3.0 will be available for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The site also bares that the third version will debut on August 20.
