Rumors have suggested that the next season of the anime adaptation of "Attack on Titan" will premiere sometime next year. Recent reports peg a more specific release period for the show, as it is said that "Attack on Titan" season 2 may premiere as early as April.

According to Japan Today, the official announcement for season 2 of "Attack on Titan" is spring of 2017. The confirmation came from creator Hajime Isayama, who added, "It's taken some time since the end of the first season, but that's been put to use making a high-quality anime. I hope you'll enjoy it!"

"Attack on Titan" is the anime adaptation of Isayama's original manga, "Shingeki no Kyojin." The anime production has been started by Wit Studio and director Tetsuro Araki. The final episode for the first season aired in September 2013, so it is understandable that fans are waiting anxiously for news on the continuation. The fanbase for the franchise has enlarged much that the series branched out into different media, even culminating in at least two live-action films.

Meanwhile, aside from a general release period, not much is known about season 2 of "Attack on Titan." Although Isayama is hard at work continuing the manga, the original run of the anime adaptation differed in plot and stories form the original. This means that there may still be some deviation in season 2. There are also rumors that the "Attack on Titan" run will be cut off, and the upcoming season will be its last. Should the speculations be correct, Araki and the creative team will have to deviate the story and create new plot in order to end the anime series.

"Shingeki no Kyojin" tells the story of men against monsters called Titans. The Titans inhabited the earth and have been so terrifying that humans built settlements protected by walls.
