Xiaomi has unveiled two Mi Max smartphones in the past, and according to the latest rumors, the Chinese handset maker is set to release a third device in the lineup. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is expected to sport a wide, edge-to-edge screen panel, consistent with the characteristics of the previous Mi Max phones. However, the Mi Max 3 is reported to go even bigger with a 7-inch display, making it almost the same size of a regular tablet.

Initial reports on the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 came from the Chinese tech blog site CNMO, revealing that the upcoming tablet-sized smartphone will feature a stunning 7-inch screen. To further offer the users with an immersive viewing experience, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is shown to have minimal bezels on the sides, yielding a screen-to-body aspect ratio of 18:9. Assuming that these details are correct, the Mi Max 3 could be the biggest mobile device to be released by Xiaomi in 2018. The handset would also be the largest Mi Max ever created, knowing that the first Mi Max and Mi Max 2 have 6.44-inch screens.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is also rumored to highlight full HD+ viewing with 2160x1080 pixel resolution. This is likely to happen, as the first two Mi Max smartphones also featured full HD display. Meanwhile, the Mi Max 3 is tipped to have a 5,500mAh non-removable battery, and the device can be charged using Qualcomm's Quick Charge 8.0 fast charging version. This whopping battery capacity is expected, as sporting a 7-inch widescreen panel would easily drain the gadget's power. Likewise, the previous Mi Max smartphones are also known for their extended battery life.

Regarding core specs, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is expected to boost mid-range hardware such as the Snapdragon 630 and 660 chipsets. The different mobile chip could be used for each Mi Max 3 variant. As for the body, the handset is believed to have an all-metal build, following the footsteps of its predecessors. If there is one classic Mi Max feature that will not be present in Mi Max 3, that could be the capacitive keys as Xiaomi is leaning towards on-screen switches to make way for an all-screen display.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is rumored to launch at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 this January.
