It is being speculated that Microsoft is already working on the next generation of the elite controller for the Xbox One, according to various images posted on one of China's most popular websites.
The upgraded version from the company's "Elite Series" has been leaked by an anonymous user by posting images on Baidu, which is one of China's most populated websites based on the number of its daily users that can reach up to 70 million per day.
The new controller will have a USB-C port for charging. It will also have a three-profile switch, Bluetooth support for Windows 10 and three-level Hair Trigger Locks. The length of the paddles at the backside of the controller has been improved as well and looks to be removable just like its predecessor. The difference is that there is now a tension mechanism for the thumbsticks to allow the users to adjust how tight or loose they would feel, based on the images.
The new design for the controller was hinted by Microsoft last year when the company filed for patent in December with "an adjustable lock design for the thumbsticks, and the images match that exact design, alongside three LEDs that could indicate battery life or the extra profile support," according to The Verge.
After the Baidu leak, another set of images started making rounds online, this time from online forum website Reddit which provided a more complete view of the controller. The new angle suggested that the controller has new grips, possibly addressing a previous complaint from users that the previous version's rubber grips had a tendency to come off over time.
No release date has been set for the device so far, as Microsoft has yet to officially launch the product. But Xbox One owners can expect that with the new Elite Controller's added features, its price definitely will not be at the same range as its previous version.
