WWE rumors, news 2016: WWE Championship to see John Cena try his luck again against AJ Styles?

John Cena and AJ Styles go at it at the Money in the Bank 2016 WWE.com

John Cena may have been cleanly defeated by AJ Styles at WWE SummerSlam 2016, but he is by no means done with his rival. As per the latest rumors, the feud is only going to be hotter from here.

With the 15-time world champion set to take a break from WWE to film the second season of "American Grit," Styles will be busy with WWE Champion Dean Ambrose.

The Lunatic Fringe successfully defended his title last week against Dolph Ziggler, but it appears that his run as the champion is coming to an end.

If the latest WWE rumors are to be believed, Styles will nab the win at WWE Backlash and he will remain the champion long enough that Cena returns and avenges his loss.

The Phenomenal One definitely catapulted to new heights after beating Cena fair and square. Through this, he becomes a much bigger man, a development that's long overdue.

However, Cena will not end things with Styles with him at the losing side. According to PW Mania, WWE plans to resume the feud when the leader of Cenation returns from the "American Grit" production.

As per Sportskeeda, it may not sit well with some fans especially with the idea of Cena possibly earning his 16th championship in WWE, reaching the same feat as Ric Flair.

However, even though Cena will get the title in the end, the victory of Styles at SummerSlam already served its purpose to catapult the phenomenal in the main event scene.

But in the end, it is all about Styles winning the title from Ambrose, which Bleacher Report says might not be the right call seeing that current champ, despite his popularity, is still short of being WWE's top guy.

A win over the man who beat Cena will certainly be a big boost to his run. In addition, the site feels like it is not yet the time for Ambrose's run as the champion to meet its end.
