WWE 2018 rumors: Vince McMahon movie might begin filming in spring; Bradley Cooper set to play lead role

The previously announced Vince McMahon movie "Pandemonium" has received an updated screenplay that, if approved, will allow TriStar Pictures and WWE Studios to begin filming by spring of this year.

According to PWInsider, the only thing that had been preventing the project from moving forward was that Bradley Cooper, who is currently set to play the lead role of Vince McMahon himself, had been waiting for a revision of the film's screenplay before deciding to accept the role or not.

The final version of the new screenplay is now complete and has been sent to the studio for approval. Should the studio accept the draft, it will then be forwarded to Cooper and his team. If Cooper decides to accept the final proposed script, filming is expected to begin by spring.

"Pandemonium" is a biopic revolving around the life story of Vince McMahon, WWE's Chairman and CEO. It is being put together as a collaboration between TriStar Pictures and WWE Studios and was first announced in April 2017.

The script for the film was originally written by Craig A. Williams who is most well-known for writing 2009's "Underdog." However, given that the movie is being produced alongside WWE Studios, it is not surprising that the draft had to undergo a lot of editing and rewrites to remove any information and content that the McMahon family and the brand would not want out in the public eye.

Directing the film are Glenn Ficarra and John Requa who have both worked together in films such as "I Love You Phillip Morris, "Crazy, Stupid, Love," and "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot," as well as served as executive producers on the television series "This Is Us."

News of Cooper being approached for the project first surfaced in September 2017. Cooper was chosen to play the lead role for the film so that the studios could attach an A-List celebrity to the project and potentially fast track it based on a post by PWInsider.
