In order to accommodate the needs of smartphone users when battery life is concerned, Chinese smartphone Vivo has announced its X5 Max Platinum, which features very impressive hardware specifications, including an astounding large 4,150 mAh battery. According to Techgadgetsz, the handset will feature a price tag of $485, which is a bit on the higher side, but the company has loaded the smartphone with components that will warrant such a high price tag.

Starting off, X5 Max Platinum is assimilated with a MediaTek MT6752 SoC, which is the same mobile chipset present in the likes of Lenovo K3 Note and Meizu M1 Note. The only disappointing aspect of the chipset was that its octa-core Cortex-A53 has all of its cores running at a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, whereas devices like Elephone P7000 are running the exact same processor, but at a clock speed of 2.0 GHz, while carrying a much smaller price tag.

Moving on, 2 GB of RAM is present underneath the hood, along with 16 GB of native storage. The aforementioned native storage count can be upgraded to 128 GB via MicroSD card. For image capturing and video recording purposes, a 13 MP rear facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0 has been added, and will be supplemented by a 5 MP front facing camera sensor.

The highlight of owning the smartphone will definitely be its 4,150 mAh battery, which is designed to deliver up to 2 days of battery life with continuous usage. X5 Max Platinum is also incorporated with an LTE modem, Bluetooth 4.0 chip and enough space on its 5.5 inch, 1080p screen size to accommodate two SIMs.

Judging from the price tag, the handset will be targeted to higher-tier smartphone market, and it can be assumed that majority of the costs were taken in placing a 4,150 mAh cell at the rear side of the smartphone.
