After collaborating with Google, HTC and the tech giant were able to roll out the fastest Android tablet available in 2014. Now, the Taiwanese tech firm has formed a coalition with video game developing and distribution company known as Valve in order to roll out the high end VR headset known as Vive. The headset will be appearing at the Game Developers Conference.

According to PC Gamer, the Vive will be possessing two displays that will be rendering a resolution of 1200 by 1800 pixels each. In addition, the frame rate of the content being played in the Vive will be capped at 90 FPS. HTC stated that the device will be able to "fill your field of vision in all directions, eliminating the jitter common to previous VR technologies."

The product will also be possessing a gyrosensor, accelerometer, and laser position sensor. In addition, Vive will also be featuring something called the 'Steam VR base station.' The feature will allow the wearer to control their avatar's movement by physically walking around the space that they have in their surroundings. HTC will also be releasing wireless gaming controllers that will allow the player to proceed through complex interactions of upcoming gaming titles that cannot be completed through conventional means.

On March 1, 2015, HTC's Peter Chou said in a press conference held in Barcelona:

"We believe that virtual reality will totally transform the way that we interact with the world. Virtual reality will become a mainstream technology for the rest of the world." Chou also gave a few examples of what users will be able to accomplish with the device. He says verbatim "Attending real-time concerts, learning history, reliving memories."

Sony will also be looking to unveil its Project Morpheus VR headset at the upcoming conference and will showcase to the public what improvements the Japanese tech firm has assimilated to its own offering.
