In the return of History's hit series "Vikings" season 5, fans will be treated with a lot of surprises. This will be the last time viewers will see Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) while they will also witness Ivar the Boneless' (Alex Høgh Andersen) change.

It looks like the Queen of Kattegat is aware that her time in power is numbered and something unpleasant is going to happen to her. In an interview with TV Guide, Winnick talked about her character's future and how it is going to unfold in the upcoming season.

"The Seer prophesized that she would have her fate dealt with by one of the sons of Ragnar," she said. Lagertha is about to meet her demise in "Vikings" season 5 and one of Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) sons is going to do it.

There are rumors that it could be her own son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). However, it could also be Ragnar's other three sons — Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) and Ivar.

Also, a lot of fans are wondering how will be the shieldmaiden will be sent to Valhalla.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Bleeding Cool, Andersen discussed what is going to happen in "Vikings" season 5. Ivar is known for his uncontrollable emotions. Andersen admitted his character's weakness and said he is now challenged to take his father's advice to use it intelligently.

At the beginning of the upcoming new installment, fans will see Ivar in sorrow. After killing his brother, Sigurd (David Lindström), he knows that it greatly affected his other siblings.

"I don't think he'll ever be able to heal from that," Andersen said about his character.

So, in "Vikings" season 5, viewers will see Ivar trying to control his emotions. He will now be seen as more mature, although he will remain as the determined young man he is. Leading an army will take its toll on him and he will definitely be ready for it.

"Vikings" season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. EST on History.
