For a while, reports about "Transformers 5" bringing the complete focus on the mechanoids rang the web. But there were also reports that the much-awaited film will tackle two storylines, one focusing on the humans and the other on the robots.

If the latter is the case, Mark Wahlberg's return will certainly make sense. The actor played the role of inventor and mechanic Cade Yeager in "Transformers: Age of Extinction" and he is set to reprise the role once again in the upcoming robot film.

Cinema Pop caught up with the actor during the premiere of his latest film "Daddy's Home," which he stars in with Will Ferrell, to ask about his future projects. When asked if he will be back in "Transformers 5," the actor answered in the affirmative.

Wahlberg's involvement adds fuel to the fire that Michael Bay, who directed each and every movie in the franchise so far, will end up at the director's seat. This is because Bay and Wahlberg share an extremely close working relationship.

Bay entrusted the "Ted" actor to be the star of the franchise and even offered him roles in some of his films such as "Pain and Gain." That being said, it would only come as a little surprise if Bay ends up being the helmer of "Transformers 5."

The fact that Wahlberg did not play coy in confirming his appearance in the highly anticipated movie hints that the director is already on board or his involvement in the project will be signed and sealed easily.

Meanwhile, Day Herald reports that Megan Fox, who was in the first two "Transformers" films, is expected to star in "Transformers 5" as well if issues between her and are Bay ironed out.

Not much is currently known about "Transformers 5" apart from the fact that it is slated to release in 2017. Production for the movie should commence next year. More details about it should trickle in by then.
