Starting life in San Myshuno through "The Sims 4: City Living" downloadable content (DLC) will be a difficult feat. The challenge begins with choosing the apartment.

Being a newbie in the big city, securing space is tough. In the expansion pack, players start from scratch, and they will likely end up in cheap apartments.

According to "The Sims" producer JM Sudsina, Lot Traits can be added in any lots in the game, but cheap apartments, which will most likely be the first homes of many Sims, have default traits — cursed and filthy.

This means either the Sim will have no choice but to share it with a ghost, or the place comes with leaky pipes, faulty wirings, and cockroaches.

Sudsina also said that adding a Quake Trait to a lot is possible, which will generate rumbles in the area. Still regarding the Lot Traits coming to "The Sims 4: City Living," he said that there are a ton of them to be added.

"Honestly, very excited about Lot Traits. They add soooo much to the experience, and there are a bunch of them," the producer teased.

The producer also said that "City Living" will offer a two-story two-unit apartment with the common area on the first floor. A fancier choice is a three-story one-unit apartment.

In decorating these apartments, the upcoming "The Sims 4" DLC will allow players to add bedrooms and redecorate it the way they want to. The only thing prohibited in terms of designing the apartment is knocking the walls down.

With regards to the neighbors, "The Sims 4" players can choose the people or families that will live close to them. Players can even visit the apartments of their neighbors.

Upgrading from an apartment to a penthouse takes a lot of hard work in "The Sims 4: City Living," but as the space of the Sim gets better, the gameplay also enhances, bringing them closer to the envied luxury city living in San Myshuno.

"The Sims 4: City Living" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 1.
