Game enthusiasts have been waiting for the release of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" second downloadable content (DLC), titled "The Champions' Ballad." Though Nintendo has been keeping details under wraps, the game's eShop listing has revealed the much-awaited update's release date.

In a video message, series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that the game's second update would be released by the end of the year. But thanks to the eShop's listing, fans now have an idea of when to expect the second biggest update they have long been waiting for.

According to the listing, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" second DLC is scheduled to be released on Dec. 31. It even revealed that the second pack will carry the latest original story, a new dungeon and more challenges for the players.

The new DLC will be included in the season pass, which has a price tag of $19.99; along with DLC Pack 1 called "The Master Trials" and the first expansion pass bonus.

To recall, Nintendo revealed the upcoming DLC packs for the franchise's 19th installment in February of this year. The first expansion pass bonus was unveiled on March 3. It was followed by the release of DLC Pack 1 on June 30.

In another video message, Aonuma explained that they have created "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" world of Hyrule to be big and vibrant. So, they wanted to give players the chance to experience it more by adding new DLC packs. "With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more," he said.

The game's additional content is the first for the main-line of the title's franchise. This is said to be Nintendo and Aonuma's effort to give the gamers the chance to explore something new and fun within the series.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is now available for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
