HBO is still mum about "The Leftovers" season 3 renewal but die-hard fans of the series are making themselves clear both online and by assembling in front of the network's office in New York about what they want, which is a new season of the series.

Just like fans, executive producer Damon Lindelof awaits for HBO's verdict, but from what he has been remarking in interviews, the story of the Departure and the Guilty Remnant is not done yet. In an interview with Indiewire, he revealed that the team has "some vague ideas" for a new season.

During his chat with TV Line, he revealed that "HBO loves the show" but whether or not this is enough for "The Leftovers" season 3 to become official remains to be seen. Lindelof, however, already imagines how it will all go down.

"My hope is that the finale is well received, and that there is a good feeling about the season that extends into the first couple weeks of December. And then we can ride that wave into a pickup," the EP said. "I will say this: If you are a fan of The Leftovers, let should let your voice be heard," he added.

Indeed, fans took this advice to heart and marched to the HBO headquarters wearing Guilty Remnant outfit and holding up notes saying "Renew." However, Indiewire emphasizes that renewals, especially for the network, entail more than just devout fans but also subscriber growth and awards.

That being said, the fate of "The Leftovers" season 3, at the moment, hangs in the balance. But should it be renewed, Lindelof told TV Line of a possible plot point. "I would really like to see some more of Kevin Senior. And not just in the present, but in the past," the EP said.

He also told Variety that Kevin's impressive ability to just cheat death (he is almost always revealed alive after looking really dead) on the show will also be played with by possibly "re: repeatedly killing" him in the new season should there be one.
