In the next episodes of "The Gifted," Polaris (Emma Dumont) joins the nefarious telepath Esme (Skyler Samuels) to take down Sentinel Services.

The trailer and promotional photos for the upcoming installments, which are titled "eXtraction" and "X-roads," were released just recently, and they show Polaris getting manipulated by the scheming Esme. Apparently, she wants Polaris to join her and stop the Hound program, which is a destructive project to capture mutants.

Esme will stop at nothing to end Dr. Roderick Campbell's (Garret Dillahunt) shady program, even if it means killing Sentinel agents. Polaris has magnetic powers which Esme's Hellfire Club needs in order to fulfill their mission. "Whether you like it or not, you're like your father," Esme tells Polaris, whose dad happens to be Magneto, a formidable mutant. It remains to be seen if she will eventually ally with the Hellfire Club and destroy the Sentinels.

In the meantime, the Sentinels discover the mutant headquarters and make their attack on the property. Agent Jace Turner (Coby Bell) leads the pack and instructs the others to be ready. It seems like Campbell is going to release the Hound program on the mutants. Apparently, it is a device which can combine two mutants' powers to magnify an attack. Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Eclipse (Sean Teale), and the rest of people brace themselves for an onslaught as they try to keep the headquarters protected.

In the last episode, the mutants were recovering from the loss of Dreamer (Elena Satine) who was shot and killed by Campbell. Thunderbird was doubly distraught because she was his girlfriend. Nevertheless, he still kept focused on the mission and was not blinded by revenge. He remained a leader of the group.

"The Gifted" season 1 episodes 12 and 13 will hit the airwaves on Monday, Jan. 15, at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
