In the next episode of the "The Big Bang Theory," astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) discovers some awkward news regarding the woman he's dating.

The trailers and promotional pictures for the upcoming installment, which is titled "The Separation Triangulation," were just released recently, and they show Koothrappali kissing his latest lady love Nell (Beth Behrs) on the couch. He comments that the time they are sharing together is a nice moment, which Nell agrees to with a smile.

All of a sudden, a man pops out from behind the couch and says, "She used to kiss me like that." Koothrappali's eyes widen as he appears shocked by the disheveled individual. It turns out that the heartbroken man is Nell's ex-husband Oliver (Walton Goggins). He lingers behind the couch with self-pity as the space scientist tries to get a hold of the situation.

Later, Oliver visits Koothrappali at the planetarium where he works, without an invitation. He is still distraught over the thought of Nell leaving him and wants to vent out his feelings and frustration. Koothrappali tells him comfortingly that everything is going to be okay.

However, Oliver replies in tears, "How is it going to be okay. You're sleeping with my wife." The scientist acknowledges that truth and tells Oliver that besides that, everything is still alright and that he needs to look on the bright side.

In the last episode, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) hit a brick wall when he could not think of any new ideas to research about other than dark matter. He needed some assistance with his research and found it in the unlikeliest of people, Penny (Kaley Cuoco). She apparently helped him get new ideas on how to approach his dark matter research.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 11 episode 14 will hit the airwaves on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
