In the last three seasons of the popular FX television series "The Americans," Paige (Holly Taylor) has been struggling with the true identities of her parents, but in the first look of the series' sixth and last season, it looks like Paige has fully accepted her family's double life, complete with a new makeover.
Exclusively revealed by TV Line, the first-look photo shows Paige sporting a new look while talking with her mom Elizabeth (Keri Russell). According to Holly Taylor, Paige is now "in college, making a few friends, and is more sure of herself. She's still curious and intelligent, but now she has more confidence."
Now that she has completely accepted the true nature of her family's business, is Paige ready to help her mom? "Both of them really enjoy getting to spend such quality time together, but at the same time, it is work," the actress explained.
"Elizabeth is strict with Paige because she wants to protect her. And Paige is still young and wants her space, too. So although it can get complicated, at the heart of it, they're just like any amicable mother-daughter duo."
According to Executive Producer Joe Weisberg, Paige officially joining their family's job of being Soviet agents is what Elizabeth has been longing for for a really long time. However, Weisberg wanted to note that what Elizabeth is imagining is for Paige to do simple tasks, as she has a bigger goal in mind for her daughter.
Will Paige be stepping into the shoes of her father Philip (Matthew Rhys) then? Not exactly. In the final season, the series will pick up the events three years after the fifth season's finale, and in season six, Philip will have completely retired from espionage. It's yet to see whether Philip will try to dissuade Elizabeth from involving Paige so much into their secret life, but it's highly likely as it has been revealed that Philip doesn't want Paige to be involved.
"The Americans" season six will be its last and final season. Official premiere dates are yet to be announced.
