A new teaser for "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 is has been released, and it has revealed tons of amazing stuff that fans can expect in the next season of the hit animated series.

For a start, the short trailer confirmed the return of a fan-favorite character, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Fans who have followed "Star Wars" in general will surely be happy about this.

Thrawn is one of the beloved characters cut from the canon after Disney acquired the rights to "Star Wars" from Lucasfilm. Seeing the blue-faced baddie in "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 will surely be a real treat.

The trailer teases the possibility of Boba Fett joining the series as well. The speculations were prompted by a quick moment in the trailer (at 0:18 mark) that seems to have shown the green-armored cult-favorite character.

It is being said that Boba Fett was indeed the character that was seen in passing in the "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 trailer and that he was wearing his father, Jango's, helmet that he himself repaired.

Another exciting bit in the "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 trailer is the part when Darth Maul and Kanan were shown sporting green eyes, which The Stupendous Wave points out is the same effect that happens when Talzin possesses someone.

Kanan can be seen attacking Ezra in the trailer as his eyes glowed ominously green. Maul sported the same menacing look, and it is believed that Talzin will be part of the new season because of this bit.

As to how that will happen, The Stupendous Wave suggests that Darth Maul, who Talzin gave a part of herself to rescue him from his insanity (which weakened her) in "Clone Wars," is trying to resurrect her.

Whether or not this will happen in "Star Wars Rebels" season 3, fans will find out when the new season premieres on Saturday, Sept. 24, on Disney XD.
