In the next episode of "Star Trek: Discovery," Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) acknowledges Captain Gabriel Lorca (Jason Isaacs) from the mirror universe.

The trailer for the upcoming installment, which is titled "What's Past is Prologue," was released just recently, and it shows Lorca apparently taking over the USS Shenzhou, the giant space cruiser managed by Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh). Burnhan, Lorca, and the rest of the crew from the USS Discovery travelled to the parallel dimension accidentally when the spore drive encountered problems. Burnham and Lorca saw the opportunity to learn from the other dimension's Georgiou and the Shenzhou. They pretended to be their lookalikes and went on board the ship. However, it seems that Lorca was originally from the parallel universe and just returned home by accident with the Discovery.

This revelation suddenly dawned on Burnham. Now she has to contend with Lorca and his unpredictable behavior. "I'm living proof that fate is real. The strong and the capable will always rise. Welcome home, Michael," Lorca says to her in the main hall. It appears that he has overthrown Georgiou and taken over the Shenzhou. Burnham is taken aback and contemplates on what to do next with him. She realizes that all this time, she has been talking to an impostor. It remains to be seen what happened to Lorca from her universe.

In the last episode, Burnham revealed to Georgiou that she came from another universe and that they were there by accident. She told the Shenzhou captain the truth because she was going to be killed by the officers. However, Georgious spared her life upon knowing the revelation. She even killed the officers to bury the truth.

"Star Trek: Discovery" season 1 episode 13 will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS All Access.
