Sony's PlayStation network (PSN) for consoles like the Playstation 4 (PS4) has been known to have a lot of malfunctions over the years. The network as since suffered yet another problem for several days recently, a problem exclusive to the PS4.

While not as severe compared to other network problems from the past, the new network problem is something that can still hinder common gaming features that gamers engage in everyday. Sony PlayStation recently announced the problem in detail through their PSN status page.

"You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features," Sony posted. "Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience," the company added.

Besides the aforementioned features of PSN, there are also reports that the network is having problems with PlayStation Now, which is a gaming subscription of PlayStation that gives an alternative to buying physical game copies or downloading digital ones. Social services, gaming services, and even as simple as account management has also been affected by the networking problem.

In response to this, PlayStation recently posted a five-step remedy in their official Twitter account to help users with their online gaming. The post stated that the user must first log out of the account that is having issues, turn off the PS4, sign into the PlayStation website, confirm, and then reboot the PS4.

There are reports from users that the network has improved since posting these instructions.

It would then be wise for gamers to stick to offline mode whenever the PSN system is down and wait for the PSN status page to actually take down the warning before proceeding with online events that could greatly suffer from a bad network.

The PSN issues started happening sometime after big titles like "Monster Hunter: World" and "Dragon Ball Fighter Z" debuted for the PlayStation 4. There are no official announcements regarding the possible correlation of the networking issues with the two aforementioned games.
