"Shadow of the Colossus" coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro will not just be a simple remake as it will come with a new special edition. In an announcement on PlayStation Blog, Japan Studio executive producer Yasutaka Asakura revealed the game's exclusive box set that has both physical and digital stuff.

To celebrate the game's ultra-high-definition version, the "Shadow of the Colossus" Special Edition Box Set is priced at $49.99. It is just $10 pricier compared to its standard version. Also, it has a printed manual as part of its exclusive bonus.

The special set includes the special edition box, a steel book collector's case complete with an outer sleeve, and artist postcards. Also, it has in-game digital additions like Ancient Bow, Cloak of Fate, and "Spotted Steed" Agro skin.

Additionally, "Shadow of the Colossus" Special Edition Box Set comes with two PlayStation 4 custom themes, Colossi avatar set, a world map, and Colossi Stickers. Of course, the special version has the physical disk of the game's remake.

Evidently, the special edition box has a lot of exclusive contents. It is reportedly made to commemorate the title's "lasting influence."

"Shadow of the Colossus" was first revealed in North America and Japan in October 2005 for PlayStation 2. The cult classic's remake is said to be more than just a visual upgrade when it hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Its PlayStation 4 Pro version now lets players choose from two different options of gameplay. The first one is the Cinematic kind of gameplay that has 4K output, targeting 30 fps, while the second one is the Performance that is locked to 60 fps. In fact, the PlayStation blog announcement also comes with a comparison trailer that shows the difference and evolution of the two.

"Shadow of the Colossus" remake is set to be released on Feb. 6, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
