Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 release date, specs rumors: Next premium tablet to introduce Infinity Display in Tab S series

When talking about premium Android tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series easily comes to mind. It has been a while since the South Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy Tab S3, and based on the recent rumors, the release of the Galaxy S4 is almost overdue. It is likely that the next high-end Galaxy tablet will include some features from the current S series smartphone lineup, which is the Infinity Display.

According to Tech Advisor, it is likely that Samsung will announce the arrival of Galaxy Tab S4 in the coming months. In fact, the company might unveil the next Galaxy Tab entry at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona this February. However, this could be the earliest time for the Tab S4's appearance, given that Samsung usually takes 18 months to update its tablet collection, unlike the new Galaxy smartphones that are announced yearly.

As for the latest features of the new tablet, there are rumors that Samsung will apply the Infinity Display design to the Galaxy Tab S series. This will be an interesting addition to the current Galaxy Tab S3 build, given that such design will further reduce the bezels on the screen, allowing a more immersive viewing experience for the users.

Meanwhile, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will keep the Super AMOLED screen panel, perhaps even using the same tech as its predecessor. Another feature that the Galaxy Tab S4 could have is the HDR content support, similar to the Tab S3. As for the size, it does not seem like Samsung will go bigger than a 9.7-inch tablet, in spite of its top rival, Apple, beginning to create iPad devices as huge as 12.9 inches in length. Stll, there is a possibility that the Tab S4 will have a slightly larger variant at around 10.5-inch.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 could be powered by Qualcomm Snpadragon 835 chipset, the same mobile processor being used by the current US models of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. It has yet to be seen, however, if the tablet could go straight into using Snapdragon 845, the latest high-end chip from Qualcomm.
