More rumors regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 "superphone" have been coming out as 2017 draws to an end. Current reports say that the device may be revealed as early as February 2018.

According to a Bloomberg source, Samsung may be revealed as early as late February. The device may also be released soon after in March. The possible announcement of the device will be Samsung's first major phone introduction since September. The Samsung Note 7 successor, the Note 8 was revealed during that month.

No official news from Samsung regarding the Galaxy S9 has been revealed yet, but designs rendered by Samsung fanboys suggest that there will be no major design change for the upcoming Galaxy S9, except for the upgraded camera (dual-camera setup for the back and front) and the location of the fingerprint scanner.

The fingerprint scanner for the Galaxy S9 is reported to be moved below the camera for better ergonomics. Currently, with the Samsung Galaxy S8, the fingerprint scanner is located beside the camera. S8 users have been complaining about the device's ergonomics as it difficult to reach the sensor. Users also accidentally touch the camera at the back, leaving it with fingerprint smudges.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 may also look similar to the Galaxy S8 with a 5.8-inch super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display with a 1440 x 2960 resolution. If the Samsung Galaxy S9 will have an iteration, it may follow suit to the Galaxy S8 Plus that features a 6.2-inch display.

In terms of the performance, the Samsung Galaxy S9 in the U.S. may be using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor, according to CNET. This means that the device will have better performance and battery life. Meanwhile, the Asian version of the device will feature Samsung's own Exynos 9 Series 9810 processors.

The release plans for the Samsung Galaxy S9 could still change, however. Hopefully, more news will be revealed in the upcoming months.
