Samsung has been quite busy in trying to earn back the trust of its consumers following the exploding battery issue of its recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phablet. The company is estimated to have lost billions of dollars in revenue due to the issue, and it will likely loose even more because of its planned recall and replacement programs.
However, the most logical strategy for the company would be to move forward and provide yet another product that would earn back the trust of its consumers. That device is highly believed to be the next Galaxy S smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8.
As of the moment, the company has already put into place a series of programs that will allow current Galaxy Note 7 owners to trade-in their device for a Galaxy S7. They can also opt to get a Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus for free when it comes out next year. The company already confirmed the program for South Korean owners, and a similar program is expected to roll out to the rest of the world very soon.
With that in mind, a lot of consumers are now looking forward to the release of the new Galaxy S8 smartphone, which will reportedly be debuting at the 2017 Mobile World Congress happening in February next year. Several reports have also claimed that Samsung may be offering a new feature ahead of Apple next year in the form of an embedded fingerprint scanner underneath the device's display.
There have been several reports saying that Apple will be applying the same feature to their next iPhone — the iPhone 8 — based on the recent approval of a patent they had submitted a few years back. Samsung could be utilizing an entirely different method which would achieve the same result.
Whatever the case, consumers may be seeing a new Galaxy S smartphone without a home button, and perhaps a device that is entirely covered by the display.
