Samsung has yet to announce its plans for the Galaxy Note 8 successor. It should be expected that no confirmed reports about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 would come out this early, given that the next premium phablet from the South Korean tech giant is still expected to arrive later this year. Nevertheless, visual artists are posting their own take of what the Galaxy Note 9 would look like, and as per the recent concept image, the device will feature an impressive facial recognition scanner.

As reported by ValueWalk, the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9 concept render is made by Upcoming Phones. It is not likely that the visual artist had insider information to create his own image of the phablet, although most of the features included in the concept image is basically what the users would like to see in Note 9. The concept device looks spectacular, keeping the same sleek elements of the actual Galaxy Note 8.

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 concept image is the face scanner, which can be used to unlock the device. Upcoming Phones states that the facial recognition technology used by this concept phone is different from that of Note 8, noting that the face scanner works well even in dark environment. This feature is very much welcomed in the actual Galaxy Note 9, as many Note 8 users were disappointed by the Note 8's face scanner. As of now, Apple's iPhone X is the winner of this category, as its Face ID system is proven to be more secure compared to Note 8's facial recognition, according to Trusted Reviews.

The concept Samsung Galaxy Note 9 includes an 8-megapixel front-facing camera that is designed to capture "amazing selfies." The rear-positioned image snapper is a dual-lens camera setup, featuring two 12-megapixel sensors with a dual-tone flash. In terms of the display, the concept image stays true to the Galaxy Note series' widescreen characteristic, having a 6.5-inch 4K Infinity display. The screen resolution amounts to 3,840x2,1260, and the bezels around the display are almost non-existent.

Outside the concept image, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is speculated to be among the first few flagship devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It is also expected to have a new location for the fingerprint reader, which the users complain to have an awkward position at the Note 8's rear side.
