'Runaways' season 1 episode 7 spoilers: Victor receives a mysterious message

In the next episode of "Runaways," Victor Stein (James Marsters) receives a mysterious message from his time device.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Refraction" was released just recently and showed Victor in his engineering laboratory, tinkering around with his gadgets. All of a sudden, he hears a message coming from one of his devices. He later finds out that it is coming from his time-travelling messaging machine which he thought was not functioning properly.

He looks at the device's monitor and is surprised to see his son, Chase (Gregg Sulkin), who appears to be older with a beard and moustache. "Dad, hope you get this in time. Please, whatever you do, don't pick up the Fistigons," the future Chase warns his dad in the present time. Victor has a confused look on his face but is nonetheless intrigued.

In the meantime, Atlas Academy is holding an Open House for the parents of the students. Chase, Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano), Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer), and the rest of the kids meet up at the event to discuss what they are going to do about the footage of their parents' nefarious activities. "Things are about to get really real," Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz) says to the group. Also, Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner) looks resolved and says, "They need to be held accountable for their actions."

In the last episode, Wilder and Minoru were able to download the footage of all the parents performing the human sacrifice. Their folks would be arrested and jailed for the murder of a considerable number of kids since their activities span over 15 years. The life force of those murdered was transferred to another being named Jonah (Julian McMahon) who is hinted to be immortal.

"Runaways" season 1 episode 7 will be streamed on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 12 a.m. EST on Hulu.
