It has been a while since Rockstar Games talked about the upcoming Western-themed shooter game, "Red Dead Redemption 2." Originally planned for a 2017 launch, the game studio decided to delay the game sequel's release to Spring 2018, much to the dismay of the "Red Dead" series' fans. However, recent reports suggest that the title might be released a bit later, with game listings showing a July release of the game.

As reported by Express UK, a retailer page was spotted to list an exact release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2." Contrary to Rockstar's announcement that the game will be out this Spring, the listing reveals that the "Red Dead" sequel will be released on July 12, 2018. This will be disappointing news for the fans, as they have already been anticipating the game's arrival at an earlier date. However, this will be a nice treat for the gamers participating in the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) this June, as they will hear the confirmed release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" right after watching the game preview.

The public should take note that July 12 falls on a Thursday, which is an awkward day to launch a AAA title. Meanwhile, a second source claiming the same July release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" was reported by Comic Book. This time, the information came from the Amazon Mexico listing of the upcoming 2018 video games. Comic Book also posted the screenshot of the said Amazon listing, for reference if ever the website administrator decides to take down the original page.

In spite of having two sources showing a July 12 release of "Red Dead Redemption 2," there is always a possibility that the date specified in the listing is just a placeholder. Although, this can be rebutted as placeholder dates used by retail websites are usually the last day of the month, like December 31st.

That said, this date has not been confirmed, so fans should stay tuned for official announcements.
