Niantic Labs is reportedly still planning to add several new features to their popular augmented reality video game, "Pokémon Go." Some of the features will include the standard gameplay systems that are already found on previously released games in the franchise. Examples of these features include Pokémon trading, trainer battles, and even region-locked Pokémon.

While the game's developer has not really released any official details regarding their update roadmap, some reports have speculated that some of the new features should be rolling out in the coming months. A report from Neurogadget even predicts that Pokémon trading could be coming out as early as next month, which will then be followed by the addition of Pokémon battles later in the year.

As for region-locked Pokémon, several players have claimed that Niantic may have intentionally locked certain Pokémon to specific countries around the world in previous updates. Players have even posted on Reddit some of the Pokémon they think are currently region-locked, but none of them have been confirmed thus far due to the different experiences being reported by other players. The post mentioned that there are currently four region locked Pokémon, which includes Taurus for North America, Mr. Mime in Europe, Farfetch'd in Asia, and Kangaskhan in Australia.

Some reports have predicted that Niantic may be adding more region-locked Pokémon to the list when they release the game in other countries where the monster-catching title is still currently unavailable. There may be additional region-locked Pokémon that will be added once the game becomes available in countries like Africa, the Middle East, and Russia.

Niantic previously mentioned that they would gradually be adding more and more features to the game in future updates, but right now they are still focusing on ensuring that the game is free from bugs and glitches. The company is also currently struggling to eradicate the rampant cheating within the game, which includes players using GPS-spoofing software and apps to trick the game's servers.
