After the successful "Pokemon GO" Global Catch Challenge that unlocked Farfetch'd worldwide, fans are now looking forward to what game developer Niantic will offer. The next update will be in December wherein Gen 3 Pokemon will be released.

According to reports, the December Pokemon update removes Gen 2 Pokemon Entei, Raikou, and Suicune from Gyms. Their availability was moved around the globe monthly, but they only stayed in the Gym until Nov. 30.

These pocket monsters used to be available in certain regions. Entei was available in the Asia-Pacific region, while Raikou was mostly caught in Europe and Africa.

While these three pocket monsters were removed from the Gym Raid playlist, trainers can still access one Legendary-type Pokemon, Ho-Oh. This character was part of the Global Catch Challenge and will not disappear until Dec. 12.

For now, gamers are preparing for the arrival of Gen 3 Pokemon in December. Pokemon characters that were first seen in the Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire will be seen in the game this month. In the beginning of the month, the Travel event ends as well as the perks of the Global Catch Challenge.

During the said challenge, gamers were given the chance to avail of double Stardust and double XP. This made it easier for players to achieve the goal of the challenge. A total of 3 billion Pokemon were caught for the duration of six days, which is the biggest record of all time.

In another news, a study shows that this augmented reality game has caused many car accidents and property damage. The research was conducted by Purdue University wherein they found out that the game resulted in $500,000 worth of damage. It is also the cause of 37 injuries and 2 fatalities from car accidents.

In the United States alone, the game helped cause an increase of over 140,000 accidents, 250 fatalities, and $2-7 billion in economic costs. The statistics are alarming and it is also one way to increase awareness for trainers to be extra careful while playing.
